About David Sauvage
David Sauvage guides people back to themselves. You will grow more connected to yourself as you spend time with him and his work.
It starts with David's ability to feel, really and truly feel, what is going on with people. You can see it in his performance art, where he does intuitive readings in front of audiences. Under the moniker "Empath," he invites people so sit with him, takes their hand, allows their emotions into his body, and expresses what they're feeling. You might be skeptical at first. But if you experience it, the skepticism drops away.
David is grounded in a deep understanding of emotional intelligence. He speaks from his body. He loves talking about emotions, healing, trauma, intuition and relationships. Folks often invite him to speak on empathy, a subject of expertise.
David used to work in film, directing documentaries and commercials. Despite a few successes, his career sputtered, and he found himself in a depression. With plant medicine, he realized he was an empath. It turned out, he was absorbing the emotions of others. He worked through these emotions, learned boundaries, and emerged as you see him today. David shares his story in his play, on this podcast, and in his book, "Healing Heals the Healer Too."
David is here help bring about a culture of healing.

David invented an entirely new form of performance art. He does embodied intuitive readings of people’s emotions in front of audiences. And he has done it at art galleries, festivals, theaters, corporate events, private shindigs, Burning Man and for a group of Hasidic Jews in on a rooftop in Borough Park. You have to experience it for yourself.

David grew up in Los Angeles. His mother, Barbara, is an entertainment lawyer. His father, Pierre, is a documentary filmmaker. He has a younger sister, Rebecca. It was an upper middle class Jewish household with a serious, intellectual bent.
He was a curious child with a passion for ideas, a bitter teenager with a love of writing, and a lost twenty-something working in theater and film. His thirties were about finding himself. He’s 41 now.
Fun facts: David’s favorite dessert is pecan pie. He has an MBA from UCLA. The height of his commercial directing career was a national spot for Sprint.
